Why I Don’t Write Stories About Love and Relationships.

And what’s going on with Medium’s algorithms?

Cartoons by Lambert-King

Today I took a quick look at my Medium feed and wondered what type of vibe I was giving off to see the storied being directed my way. Some of the stuff involved love and relationships. What do I know about that? I’ve been married 46 years. To the same woman. Before I get into the crux of today’s piece, one subject in my feed especially caught my attention.

The article was talking about women burning their bras during the 60s. I wondered why that was brought to my attention. Maybe, because I’m in my 60s, they think I will burn mine. Give it up guys, it’s not happening. But I am going to cut back on carbs.

And now, a disclaimer.

This is not to disparage stories about relationships. Actually, the story I read was well written and had a huge response. Far greater than anything any of my pieces has received. It’s just my thought process is a bit different when I see that type of material. The story talked about women who fall in love with guys who are brilliant, deep, have diverse interests and are introverted. I actually discussed this with my wife. Of 46 years.

What’s on your mind?

You probably don't know my name, but have likely seen my work. I've written for numerous syndicated cartoon strips and my gags have appeared in national pubs.
