White Sox Continue to Find New Ways to Embarrass Themselves
Even when they win, they lose.
The White Sox played the Guardians over the weekend and still managed to embarrass themselves. The club’s capacity to do that in new and exotic ways continues to amaze. Of course, what most people took away from the series was the fight between the Sox Tim Anderson and the Guardians’ Jose Ramirez.
From watching the play, it was hard to see what happened that would actually lead to fisticuffs. Ramierz slid headfirst into second base on a double. His slide took him between Anderson’s legs and Anderson held the tag on a long time.
What Ramierz said later gave some context.
“I think he’s been disrespecting the game for a while. It’s not from yesterday or from before. I even had the chance to tell him during the game. He also said, ‘Don’t do this stuff, that’s disrespectful, don’t start tagging people like that.’”
Ramierz also said Anderson told him he wanted to fight.
We haven’t heard from Tim Anderson regarding the brawl
Anderson left the ballpark after the ejection and wasn’t around to talk about the incident after the game. I don’t know Tim Anderson, but it does seem in character for him to do that. The White Sox have stunk all…
