Look for a massive shuffling of coaches, GMs, and players.

While things are interesting in the NFL playoffs, in many respects, things are even more interesting offfield. Eight NFL teams are looking for a new head coach while three are looking for a new GM.

The Bears, Vikings, Raiders, and Giants were also looking for both a head coach and a GM. The Giants have recently filled their GM slot with former Bills’ GM, Joe Schoen. For the most part, with the possible exception of the Vikings, the chances of these franchises getting the right guy are about the same as OJ finding the real killer.

I won’t pretend to be an expert on potential NFL GM candidates but I have noted the list of GM candidates for the Bears’ job looks like a cast of those old MGM movies, which featured a cast of thousands.

The Vikings have had some semblance of stability for the last few years, but the Giants are perennially bad and the Raiders always seem to shoot themselves in the foot.

As for the Bears, their ownership seems to equate a high tolerance of mediocrity for stability. It seems they think if we don’t fire people, people will think we’re a solid organization. Wrong.

There really are a lot of high-quality black…
