When it Comes to Free Agents, the Dodgers are like Solomon
And I don’t mean wise.
King Solomon was known for his astounding wisdom. That and his 1000 wives. Well, by actual count it was 700 wives and 300 concubines. Generally speaking, great wisdom and 1000 wives don’t go together. And actually, Solomon’s wives didn’t work out either. At some point, I’ll make an actual point about Solomon and the Dodgers, but a little more on Solomon’s situation.
Think about 1000 wives. He must have picked off every good-looking woman he saw. It must have chapped the other men of Israel. Imagine trying to find a good-looking woman with Solomon on the loose. And really, what was Solomon doing with 1000 women? The dude was probably booking his wives years in advance.
Of course, 1000 women living together could have a downside. I’ve heard that women that live together can get their cycles at the same time. It would have served Solomon right. Now on to my point about the Dodgers.
Why is it that the Dodgers are seemingly in on every big-time free agent?
They are like Solomon around a pretty woman. It doesn’t matter how many stud ballplayers they have, they’ve got to get more. They pretty well consign the secondary free agents to the other teams. And much like the guys alive…
