What Constitutes a Good Day?
Your standards may vary.
In the past I’ve written about how at times at life we settle. That’s what happens as we get older. That still doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy life. We have to live in the moment so to speak, and try to make the best of our circumstances.
Years ago, a couple of friends of mine, who were even older than I am now were discussing their bathroom results. They were pleased. Afterwards one of them said something to the effect of, that’s how you know you’re getting old, when you're talking about a successful trip to the bathroom.
That might be taking the “live in the moment” thing too far.
So, what constitutes a good day?
For me, if I get to kick back and just write, without anything else on my calendar, that’s a good day. A cartoonist friend of my said years ago, if you find a job you love, then you would never work another day in your life.
As you might guess, I’m an introvert.
But some other things also help
Near my home is my favorite doughnut shop of all time. A good pastry or Cajun pie can also help move the day along. It’s one of the few things I don’t mind leaving home for. I’m developing the type of relationship Norm Peterson had with Cheers with my…
