Well, I’ve Partially Left Medium
My sports stuff will be at a new location.
For some time I’ve been looking for different venues for my work. You may have noticed that while most of my work involves humor, some of it involves sports. Well, my sports pieces have a new home. The site contacted me some months ago and asked if I would like to come on board as a writer. At that time I didn’t because they weren’t in a position to pay writers. Well, with the demise of my pay of News Break and to a lesser extent Medium, I’ve been exploring over writing venues.
It’s not much, but it’s something
I checked back with the site yesterday, and they are now in aposition to pay. Not much, but it’s at least pay. They pay me a flat rate per story and a little extra based on views. Plus, I get to write about what I want.
As a kicker, I get a link to my sports trivia book. My sports stuff has never gotten a lot of response on Medium, and obviously it’s a better fit for an actual sports site.
Now, on to looking for humor sites that might be looking for writers.
As I’ve said before, writing is fun. Marketing is work.
