I’ve been a Bulls fan since the inception of the franchise. I remember the early days of Jerry Sloan and Guy Rodgers fondly. I also look back with relish on the MJ-fueled championships of the 90s. Then came about 20 mostly lean years. My frustration with the Bulls administration continued to grow. Finally, Bulls owner, Jerry Reinsdorf did what needed to be done. He canned Gar/Pax.

Older Bulls fans might remember John Paxson as the sharpshooting guard who hit the three-pointer that sealed the Bulls' last championship. That was great. But it shouldn’t have garnered him a lifetime as Bulls GM. Honestly, he should have been able to feed off that carcass for so long.

John Paxson seemed like a nice guy. Even a relatively intelligent guy. He just didn’t get the job done. Finally, Jerry Reinsdorf had an epiphany or realized he wasn’t getting any younger and put a new man in charge of the Bulls on-court product. Arturas Karnisovas has done a tremendous job in leading the Bulls’ makeover.

Forget Tom Cruise, Arturas Karnisovas has made all the right moves.

At first, I thought the trade of Wendell Carter Jr. and first-round picks for Nikola Vucevic was a loser. The team went downhill after Nikola was picked up after…
