Thoughts on the Pandemic, Freedom, and Regulations
“We’re all in this together is a scary thought.
There are lots of people concerned about the surveyance and regulation of their personal lives. While there may be valid concerns about those things in some cases, what doesn’t bother those same people is scary. Also, what constitutes news is alarming.
I appreciate government regulation can be unbelievably redundant and undeniably hard to deal with. It’s easy to see why people want less regulation in their life. What is the alternative? No banking regulations, no safety regulations, no zoning? The real question is who determines the regulations? If not government, then rich people? As we all know, rich businessmen are anxious to divest their wealth to the working class as soon as possible.
Early in the pandemic, anti-maskers were extremely aggressive. Aggressive to the point of confronting people who cared enough about themselves and their fellowman to actually wear a mask. Interesting how some people who espouse personal freedom would try to limit someone else’s freedom of choice. These same people would probably be fine if they saw someone carrying an assault weapon but had an issue with…
