Things You Didn’t Know about the TV Show, “Wings”
Over the years, there have been some great comedies on TV. While “Wings” generally isn’t thought of as great, it was sneaky good. In baseball terms, truly great ballplayers can wind up in the Hall of Fame. Players that aren’t quite good are spoken of as belonging in the Hall of Very Good. When it comes to TV, Wings belongs in the Hall of Very Good.
The characters were well drawn and were just grounded enough to hold storylines together. The cast was great, as evidenced by the success some of the cast members went to have great careers post-Wings. So, here are some things you might not have known about “Wings.”
1: Steven Weber beat out a number of high-profile actors to land the role of Brian Hackett.
Included in the Brian wannabees was George Clooney. While he didn’t win the role, Clooney’s career did have Wings.
2: Brian Cranston was considered for the role of Joe Hackett before the part went to Tim Daly.
Despite losing out on the role, you can’t say his career broke bad. Well, maybe you can.
