He and his brother both had great careers.

I loved James Arness’ work in Gunsmoke. However, his brother, Peter Graves had a solid career himself. Peter Graves, at least to me, is most known for his work in the excellent TV series, Mission Impossible. He played the role of Jim Phelps, the leader of the Impossible Mission Force for six seasons.

In addition, he appeared in the farce, “Airplane” as well as the Airplane II; The Sequel. Of course, there’s much more to Graves’ career than that. So, on we go to things you didn’t know about Peter Graves.

1: Peter was a two-time track champion while in high school in Minnesota. He ran the 120-yard-high hurdles at Southwest High School.

Ironically, I thought Tome Cruise was a good runner. Peter was the real thing, but I don’t remember him running in his roles.

2: He had a key role in, “Stalag 17.”

He looked such an all-American guy in that movie. But he also looked like the Arian ideal.

3: Some of Peter’s work is featured on “Mystery Science Theater 3000.”

You probably don't know my name, but have likely seen my work. I've written for numerous syndicated cartoon strips and my gags have appeared in national pubs.
