Things You Didn’t Know About Kirk Douglas
He wasn’t the easiest guy to like.
Kirk Douglas played in a lot of action films, so I’ve seen a lot of his work. He’s even done some memorable westerns. He generally goes about his work with a lot of intensity. In fact, he was so intense it was also a little too much for me. But that’s just me.
Perhaps his intensity came from coming from an impoverished background. He was also less than stellar in some aspects of his life. I don’t believe that was related to growing up poor. Regardless, here are some things you might not have known about Kirk Douglas.
1: Douglas played in many memorable roles during his career.
I just can’t think of any right now. Wait, there was ‘Spartacus.” You might remember Spartacus as the gladiator who was the victim of identity theft.
2: Kirk had two Bar Mitzvahs.
But I’m pretty sure only one circumcision at most.
3: Douglas really wanted to play Ben-Hur, but the role went to Charlton Heston.
Based on Douglas’ love life, his autobiography could have been called, “Ben with Her.”
