It’s a sneaky good show.

As I was perusing news items looking for something to write about, I came across an item that said that Johnny Hardwick had passed away. You may wonder who Johnny Hardwick was. Hardwick was the voice of Dale Gribble from the great animated TV show, “King of the Hill.” It reminded me of just how good that show is.

Many of you may know the show takes place in Arlen, Texas. Some might characterize Hank as a redneck, but he is so much more than that. Sure, he might threaten to kick somebody’s butt, but he’s basically a good, family loving man and a good neighbor. Who has a few issues. But you could do a lot worse than have him as your neighbor.

Hank and his wife Peggy have one child, a son named Bobby. Bobby is a polar opposite of his father, but Hank loved him, nonetheless. Of course, Hank doesn’t always have an easy time expressing his emotions. There is one line from the series kind of encapsulates this for me. Hank, expressing his affection for Bobby says:

“I’d hug you if you weren’t my son.”

So, here are some things you might not know about ‘King of the Hill.”

1: Boomhauer seems to have had quite an interesting job.
