Things You Didn’t Know About Johnny Cash
He sang the song and walked the walk.
As I’ve mentioned in the past, I’m not a huge fan of country western music. In my collection of music, I can only recall one country western star being included, Johnny Cash. I liked Johnn’s music, and I also liked his work as an actor. I don’t know about how great his range was, but he knew his limitations and did a great job of working within them.
One of my favorite movies of his was, “The Sherriff of Coweta County.” It was a made for TV movie with Andy Griffith as the bad guy. By the way, Andy made a fantastic bad guy, and is really underrated as a heavy. With that taken care of, here are some things you might know have known about Johnny.
1: You doesn’t have to call him…
When he was born, he was named J. R. Cash. When he joined the Air Force, they wouldn’t accept only initials as a name, so he chose the name John.
When he signed with Sun Records, Sam Phillips renamed him Johnny. That was the name that made him Cash.
