Jimmy Carter has been in the news recently because of beginning hospice care. While Carter’s presidency is poorly remembered by most Americans, Carter the man has received very high marks for personal integrity and his humanity.

While a lot of politicians have relatives that might be charitably called, “eccentric,” Jimmy had his brother Billy, who migth fall in the category of, “colorful.” So, let’s take a look at some Jimmy Carter related facts.

1: Jimmy grew up in a poor rural area of Georgia. Indoor plumbing and electricity weren’t common.

That might explain why brother Billy would pee in unconventional areas.

2: In a 1976 interview with “Playboy,” Jimmy said he had committed adultery in my heart” numerous times.

Fortunately, the adultery never traveled south.

3: Jimmy didn’t care for the trappings of the presidency.

He even sold the presidential yacht, thinking it was a symbol of opulence. Besides, it was really hard to fish off of.
