Technology can be intimidating. Especially if you don’t know much about it. Sometimes ignorance leads to fear. The obvious antidote to ignorance is knowledge, but that takes effort. It’s much easier to live in fear and ignorance. Of course, ignorance leads to fear in other areas of life but that's for other stories.

For now, here are some things you might not know about AI.

1: Your phone can read your mind.

Well, actually I read conflicting reports on that. Some reports say yes, and others said no. The ones that said no popped up on my iPhone so I don’t trust it.

2: The term artificial intelligence came into existence in 1956 at Dartmouth.

You would expect real intelligence from an Ivy League School. How can they charge what they do when they’re producing artificial intelligence?

3: While AI continues development at a rapid rate, the same is not true of ethics, which continue to plummet.

Plummeting ethics are fueled, in part, by “alternative facts.”

4: Elon Musk has predicted AI will exceed the intelligence of humans by 2025.

The reason for that is twofold. AI is becoming more intelligent, and secondly, a lot of humans watch Fox News.

5: Related to that, guys like Elon Musk and Bill Gates think AI is a threat to humankind.

Not sure what they think of Fox News.

6: The biggest market in the world for industrial robots is China.

They need them because of their lack of human population. Wait, being told that’s not true.

7: AI expert, Dr. David Levy, predicts human-robot marriages…
