These Celebs were on the Dating Game
You never know when an idea for a story will come from.
While back in the day, the game show, ‘The Dating Game” may have been thought of as just a way for single women and men to get together for a good time, it was more than that. A number of celebs appeared on the program, in part for exposure. And no, I not talking about the lack of clothing. Some future celebs used it to jumpstart their career.
When I’m writing I sometimes have YouTube on a small TV on my desk and one of the features involved Pee Wee Herman’s appearance on The Dating Game. For real, and in character. By the way, Pee Wee did not get the date. He was, however, entertaining. But beyond Pee Wee, here are some other celebs that appeared on the show.
1: Maureen McCormick: Maureen had her choice of three bachelors to choose from. And they could only aspire to show the poise and maturity of Pee Wee Herman. Well, in fairness to them, I believe they were teenagers. Maureen and her date went to Vancouver to sight see and eat Japanese food. As for the other guys not selected, one of them dated Marsha’s sister, Jan. What’s that? That last part isn’t true.
2: Suzanne Somers: Suzanne also had her choice of dates. It was interesting that in Suzanne’s introducion they referenced her book of poetry called, “Touch Me.” I doubt her potential dates needed…
