The Pressure of Being Poor
Rich people really don’t get it.
I’m sure rich people feel pressure. I’m not familiar with it, but I’m told they do. The pressure I am familiar with is the pressure of having a family and a low paying or no job with bills coming in. Of course, it seems like when affluent people see poor people, they assume they have some type of factory defect.
Maybe, but generally the defect is generally being born into poverty.
Here are some common allegations poor people face, and a rebuttal.
1: They spend money they don’t have.
Of course we do. What other kind of money can you spend when you don’t have any real money? I’ve put food on credit cards in the hope things would get better. The option of not eating didn’t appeal to me or my family. And I managed to get everything paid off. In only 40 years.
2: They don’t think long term.
I refer you to point one. Sometimes you have to do a financial retreat to fight another day.
3: Poor people see only problems, not solutions.
Not true. And yet again I refer you to point one. I was hungry, had no money, but did have a credit card. I saw the problem and came to a solution.
