In a way, he was like Al Bundy.

When you think of Napoleon, want to do you think of? A short guy with a complex and hand his clothes, Al Bundy style? Well, that’s a good start, but I’ll try to broaden your horizons. Here are some things you might not have known about Napoleon. Some of it is even accurate. More or less.

1: He wore his pants really high. And it wasn’t because he was an old guy. Maybe it was just a bizarre fashion statement.

2: He wasn’t as short as people think. His height is listed at 5'2', but by present measurements, he was 5'6", which was average for his time. He was actually 6'0" Canadian.

3: He would dress up as a poor guy and talk to average people to see what they thought about him. No doubt poor people thought it was strange to be approached by a poor guy surrounded by a bunch of soldiers, but hey, that was Napoleon’s thing. He also used the experience as a basis for his screenplay, “Trading Places.”

4: He sold Louisiana to the United States. Originally that looked like a great deal for the US, but as time has gone by, not so much. Between losing land to a rising ocean level, and constantly sending disaster relief, the place has turned into a money pit.

5: His cause of death is uncertain. Officially it’s listed as stomach cancer, but some think…
