Takeaways from Week One of the NFL Season
It’s just one week, but questions are already cropping up.
The first week of any NFL season always yields surprises and this first week was no exception. As usual, NFL QBs were front and center. Some were surprisingly good, and others, surprisingly bad.
The Packers-Saints game had one of each. Packers QB, Aaron Rodgers, and the Packers offense were shockingly bad, while Saints QB, Jamies Winston threw for five TD passes, all to his own team.
While it’s not time to throw dirt on Rodgers just yet, the fact that he is 37 years old and apparently distracted has got to be a source of concern for The Pack. Especially that 37 years old part. Not every aging QB is Tom Brady. Rodgers wanted the organization to consult with him more on team matters. I wonder if they will consult with Aaron about the team’s QB poor QB play?
From the Saints' perspective, is this really a new and improved Jameis Winston? Has Sean Payton really coached him up that much? Can Jameis really see clearly now? I don’t know, but I am interested to see if those things are indeed the case.
Bills QB, Josh Allen didn’t exactly light up the scoreboard in the Bills 23–16 loss to the Steelers. Allen was 30/51 with one TD and 270 yards. He also rushed for 44 yards, but all in all, didn’t look sharp.
