NFL Week 1: Previewing the Openers Part 3
The Bills-Jets game is a Monday Night showcase.
The remaining games scheduled for Week one of the NFL season are some of the more interesting matchups. Here is a quick look:
Raiders at Broncos: New Broncos head coach, Sean Payton, is more optimistic about a Russell Wilson revival than I am. Still, the very fact that Nathaniel Hackett is no longer the Broncos head coach should make them better. As far as the Raiders, I wasn’t a huge fan of Derek Carr, but I like him better than Jimmy Garoppolo. Look for Raiders RB, Josh Jacobs to field a heavy workload. Winner: Raiders
Dolphins at Chargers: The Dolphins have an electric air game, and the Chargers always seem to disappoint. I’m curious to see if Chargers RB, Austin Ekler catches 15 checkdown passes. In large part because he’s on my opponent’s fantasy football team this week. Winner: Dolphins
Eagles at Patriots: The Eagles opened as a 4.5 points favorite, and now are down to a 3.5 points favorite. And I have no idea why. The Eagles look to be the class of the NFC while the Patriots look to be mediocre. Winner: Eagles
Cowboys at Giants: The Cowboys never seem to match the hype, but I like them in this game. Dak Prescott is coming off a 10-hour leg tattoo but should be ready to go. Yes, you read that correctly. The Giants TE…
