NFL Preview: A Look at Week 2, Part One

Last week’s picks were pretty good.

I’m fairly happy with last week’s picks. Once again, I don’t pick against the spread, I just pick who I think will win outright. Last week I went 12–4. I missed the Lions win over the Chiefs, the Bucs upset over the Vikings, the Bengals collapse against the Browns, and the Rams dismantling of the Seahawks. I’ll take 75% winners each week. Now on to week two.

Vikings at Eagles: The Vikings are coming off a disappointing loss while the Eagles a less than scintillating win over the Patriots. I expect Eagles’ QB, Jalen Hurts, to put up bigger numbers this week in an Eagles win. Winner: Eagles

Ravens at Bengals: The Bengals offense was abysmal last week. It has to be better this week, right? I think so, I’m just not sure how much better. The Ravens enjoyed a relatively comfortable win over the Texans. Ravens QB, Lamar Jackson wasn’t particularly sharp in the victory, but rookie WR, Zay Flowers caught nine passes good for 78 yards. He looks to be a nice addition to the Ravens offense. Winner: Ravens

Bears at Buccaneers: The Bears were awful in their season opening loss against the Packers, while the Bucs ambushed the Vikings. I look for the Bears to bounce back from last week’s embarrassment. If they don’t, it could be a long season for the Bears, and head coach, Matt…
