We share similar characteristics.

Cartoon by Lambert-King

My son’s cat has stayed with us for a little over a year now. While I’m more of a dog person, Kobe has made inroads in helping me appreciate cats. He’s a big goofy fella. He loves to eat and lay around most of the time. Characteristics he shares with me. Some traits he possesses, however, are strictly his. While he pees in his litterbox, he tends to poop beside it.

He also has a grass habit. He constantly waits by a door leading outside, hoping to get an opportunity to make a break for it. Occasionally, he succeeds. He’s not running off, he’s just going outside to eat some grass. I suspect his grass habit gives him the munchies which is why he wants to eat all the time.

He also likes to sleep around. He has been known to sleep in the dryer, the sink, or any nook and cranny he can fit in. Given his Papillon-like proclivity to get outside, sometimes it creates concern when he’s found some hideaway to sleep in. Usually, the easiest way to get him to come out of hiding is to rattle his food bowl. He will generally come out, and then become resentful if his food bowl isn’t full.

You probably don't know my name, but have likely seen my work. I've written for numerous syndicated cartoon strips and my gags have appeared in national pubs.
