My Fantasy Football Team Lost in Week One, But I’m Still Optimistic

But I really need to win in Week 2.

I was excited going into this fantasy football season. I really liked my team and while I had a fairly tough matchup for week one, I like my chances to get off to a good start. Things were going ok through the first slate of Sunday games, but as time went on things went bad. Real bad. How bad? 146.64–92.94 bad. But it wasn’t quite as lopsided as it sounds.

My opponent had the Dallas Cowboys defense while I had the Seattle Seahawks. That’s about 40 of those points. There were, however, some other issues.

Really Tee Higgins?

Tee had exactly 0 fantasy points. He was targeted eight times and had no catches. Joe Burrow and the Bengals offense in general were awful. Higgins has to be better in week 2.

And D. J. Moore, gets two targets? I did not see that coming. The Bears losing didn’t surprise me but the Bears not using their new toy on offense did.

Saquon Barkley wasn’t overly productive either. Patrick Mahomes was okay, but not what I had hoped for.

I did have one guy who had a great week, Brandon Aiyuk. I was hoping for a breakout season from him. So far, so good. Maybe Aiyuk will develop chemistry with Brock Purdy.
