My Excuses for not Getting in Shape

As we get older we face many challenges. People trying to scam us, people telling us what is best for us, and people telling us what is best for us while trying to scam us.

One thing we seniors are encouraged to do is exercise. That’s a good idea, as long as expectations are realistic. I see some ads that are either comical or scary, depending on your mood.

Some of those muscular old guys look scary.

I’ve seen these pictures of old guys who, based on their faces look to be over 60, but who are really ripped. I understand wanting to be in good shape but if these guys are going through all that work to impress young babes, give it a rest. You just look creepy.

Besides, I’ve heard the “dad” bod is in vogue. When the grandpa bod is the in thing I expect to get modeling offers. I think I’m ahead of the curve in that area.

In the movie, “Balboa” Sylvester Stallone showed off his ripped, yet old body. As an old guy, it wasn’t inspiring. And not once, as my wife asked me, “Why don’t you look like that?” That’s another reason we’ve been married 49 years.
