Motivational Quotes That Don’t Cut it for Me
It’s hard for me to get fired up.
I’m a tough guy to motivate. While I will grudgingly admit to the value of a positive attitude, I fear I’m dangerously close to being what I’ve heard called a curmudgeon. It’s one step above an old horse’s rear. I’m trying not to cross that line.
I guess what I have a hard time with his people thinking they can impact a person’s life with a trite saying. While I’m not an easy guy to motivate, it’s not impossible to motivate me. My favorite doughnut shop does it on a regular basis. But they don’t do with a fancy saying. They do it in a far more pragmatic way. They sell a really good product that often sells out before noon.
You see, while a motivational saying won’t get me out of bed, a good doughnut or other bakery product will. Seeing as how the doughnut shop will often sell out before 10:30, I’m inspired to not only get up, but to take my meds, shower and shave, and get dressed so as to get to the doughnut shop before it’s sold out.
A Zig Ziglar saying can’t do that for me.
