More Reminders I’m Old

Since I’ve moved back to Oklahoma I’ve noticed a few changes. Some involve radio station formats. When I was here ten years ago, I actually enjoyed some of the music they played. I especially enjoyed an oldies station. The station still considers itself an oldies station. It just doesn’t play what I consider oldies. It goes back to the eighties, which I consider part of prime time.

It seems I’ve outlived oldies radio. The station in question in Oklahoma City is KOMA. It seems aptly named as they seem to think guys my age are in a COMA. It’s kind of a shock to realize I’m now too old to enjoy oldies stations.

Terminology for relationships has changed

In reading about various celebrities, I’ve encountered the term, “current wife.” Sounds like the guy in question has hired a temp. That term might seem appropriate if the guy is married to wife number five. Still, I’d hate to be referred to as my wife’s current husband.

My wife and I have only been married once, but there might be something in my medical report that could put me in that “current husband "category.

I also hear the term “relationship” bounced around a lot. That’s kind of a vague expression. What I get from that is, yes, we are having sex but don’t think of us as…
