It’s Time for the Bears to Cut The Flus Loose

The Bears, as has happened all too often under the Matt Eberflus era had victory within their grasp yesterday, only to have it slip away. The Bears had a 26–14 lead with 4:15 left. That should have been enough a big enough lead. But it wasn’t. The Bears, as is their habit, turtled and the Lions took advantage of it.

And put it on Matt Eberflus.

For months questions have abounded about Matt Eberflus and QB, Justin Fields. Well, it’s become obvious Eberflus is in over his head. He’s an alleged defensive guru whose defense collapses when it’s needed most.

As for Fields, I say go with him. Generally speaking, he played well Sunday. He also played well the last two full games he played prior to his injury. Rather than being indecisive about Fields, they need to commit to him.

I’ve been frustrated by Field’s inconsistency, but I’ve also been impressed by the way he has handled adversity. And heaven knows he’s been submitted to a bunch of adversity with the Bears.

The Bears have a good QB but are too dense to realize it.

Fields might not be conventional, but used properly, he can be a good NFL QB. Plus, Tyson Bagent is a decent NFL backup QB. The Bears would be better of working with…
