It's Sad to See the Beaver and Other Celebs Getting Older

It reminds me of my own mortality.

Cartoon by Lambert-King

We can deny our own mortality, but when we see people from our youth, we get a reminder of how time marches on. It must be the TV shows I watch, but I seem to be getter constant reminders of my past. The Pat Boone walk-in tub ads don’t bother me. He really was a little before my time. I will say that he seems to be holding up fairly well.

No, but Beaver Cleaver and his feet have my attention.

We’re all getting older and we all show the physical effects of aging. The Beaver is no exception. I appreciate the idea of a person cashing in on their fame. It’s just that seeing The Beav shuffle around on unrevitalized feet is depressing.

I can take some solace in the fact my feet seem to be holding up fairly well, even without being revitalized. I guess that’s what I need to take away from that ad.

J J Walker is no longer, “Kid Dynomite!”.

JJ, like me, is on Medicare. Trying to juxtapose his catchphrase with Medicare just doesn’t work. “Grandpa Dynomite” doesn’t work either.

There have been reports that Jimmie was/is dating Ann Coulter. I wonder if Jimmie has asked Coulter if she wants to see his Medicare…
