In Recognition of Readers’ Responses
It is appreciated.
I want to start off with an apology to my readers. No, not about producing mindless drivel on a regular basis. I want to apologize for slow, or in some cases no response to your comments on my mindless drivel. I generally appreciate your response and about 97% of it is positive.
I’ve been involved in in a number of projects recently, many non-writing related. I’ve had much less time than usual. I really do read your responses and try to reply back. Sometimes it may take a few days. Of course, sometimes my response may not be in written form.
What about negative feedback?
I’m generally fine with people that don’t agree with me, as long as the objection isn’t insulting in nature. When considering what would be disrespectful, I refer you to the old, “Point-Counterpoint SNL skit with Jane Curtain and Dan Akroyd.
You might remember that Jane would make her point and then Dan would counter it with, “Jane, you ignorant slut!” That is what I would consider disrespectful.
Rather than engage with that person, I will delete and block them. I don’t want to let them use my blog as an instrument to denigrate me. They can use their own vehicle for that.
