And the initial returns are encouraging.

I recently heard about Simily. It seems that more and more writers from Medium are getting it a shot. I’ve recently given it a shot and like the potential.

I haven’t written anything specifically for Simily, but have put some posts on Simily that I’ve also posted on Medium. Some of the selected posts have actually made more money on Simily. I think for certain posts that trend will continue. Part of that result is based on the way the pay structure for each site is set up, and part is because of the makeup of my Twitter following.

You will make more money from an article that goes viral on Simily.

On October 1, I wrote an article about Dog the Bounty. It received 89K views and 60K reads on Medium. And it’s made $42.22 for me as of now. As we know, that’s based on the Medium pay model which is based on reading time, but only that of members.

Since 98% of the traffic on that post was external views, the pay was severely limited. Plus, if you post your articles on social media and your followers click on the link and actually read the article, you generally won’t see any pay on that unless your social media followers are also subscribing to Medium.
