Help, I Need Somebody, Not Just Anybody
But it ain’t happening.
I try to keep my life simple. I’ve found the more complicated my life is, the more likely I am to have to deal with inept people. Still, on occasion, I have to get help. Things like going to the doctor, getting insurance quotes and trying to take care of any number of basic tasks of life can become a grueling ordeal.
So often it seems that to find a person that will even attempt to help you requires a Herculean effort involving jumping through numerous hoops. It’s like you have to go through their “people” to speak to the appropriate guru.
And even that often results in frustration.
As alluded to in the title of this piece, the Beatles had it right when they sang, “Help, I need somebody. Not just anybody.” Usually, when I need customer service I get, “just anybody.”
Going to the doctor is now an exercise in endurance.
I went with my son to his doctor’s appointment yesterday. It was basically to get a refill on his prescriptions. He’s been going there for a while, so checking in should be easy, right? Oh, no. They had a new computer system.
