Generally speaking, when you get married, you acquire a set of in-laws. Sometimes it goes well, sometimes it doesn’t. Most of us have a pretty good idea of how our in-laws feel about us, but here is some help for those of us still in doubt. With that in mind, here are some signs your in-laws don’t care about you.

1: Even though you’ve been married for twenty years and are now 45 years old, you sit at the kids’ table at family get-togethers.

And even worse, you like it that way. Not only do you avoid the backbiting at the grownup table, but you can also get some technical advice bout your electronics. A win-win.

2: You’re always an outsider.

It’s not just that you’re not included in the conversations, they literally won’t let you in the house. That’s especially irksome when it’s raining or snowing.

3: Your in-laws are dismissive.

Not only do they not pay attention to what you say, they literally tell you you’re dismissed. Or some variation of that like, “Take a hike!” It’s even worse when they tell you that in your own home.
