Finding the Silver Lining Volume 1

Sometimes it’s a real challenge to be an optimist.

Over the years I’ve generally adopted the philosophy of, “Hope for the best, expect the worst.” Oftentimes my expectations have been met. Unlike me, some people have a knack for finding the best in a bad situation. So, I thought would try something different and try to find the best in some bad situations. This could take a while.

1: You’ll have no trouble meeting your out-of-pocket medical maximum.

Good news! You’ll pay every dollar your medical plan allows. I’m not sure I have the hang of this “silver lining” thing.

2: Sure, your car caught on fire and was totaled, but hey, it was paid for.

As of last week. That dream you had of not having a car payment was almost a reality. Well, at least you had that week of completely owning your car.

3: You thought you were in line for a promotion, but instead the job went to the owner’s new son-in-law.

Well, he makes the daughter’s third husband so that job be open again in a couple of years.
