Facts About Vivian Vance
She was to Lucille Ball what Ed McMahon was to Johnny Carson.
I Love Lucy was one of the greatest comedies of all time. And, based on that, Lucille Ball would have to be considered one of the greatest comedians of all time. I’ve already talked about the three other leading actors in I Love Lucy. Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz and William Frawley were three of the four big wheels moving the show. But there was one more driving force in the show, Vivian Vance.
When talking about William Frawley, I touched on the acrimonious relationship between Frawley and Vance. They really were like an old married couple that did not get along. I’ll try not to dwell on that. With that foundation, here are some things didn’t know about Vivian Vance.
1: She played a medium on a 1969 episode of “Love American Style.”
I also thought she was a medium in I Love Lucy. She seemed like she was always pretty much the same size. Hold on, being told I’m talking about the wrong type of medium.
2: Vivian and her mother didn’t see eye to eye about Vivian’s desire to act.
Maybe Vivian was influenced by where she grew up, Independence, KS.
