Ted Danson has had a fantastic, and perhaps somewhat underrated TV career. While is most noted for his role as Sam Malone in Cheers, he was also very successful beyond that. He was also great in the underrated series, Becker. He also successfully played D. B. Russell in CSI.

Though his movie career might not quite measure up to his TV work, it’s still noteworthy. His personal life has also been fairly high profile. Now, on to some facts about Ted Danson.

1: Ted’s father was Edward Bridge “Ned” Danson, Jr., an archeologist and museum curator.

He sounds like a movie character I should know, but I can’t quite remember who.

2: Ted began his TV career on soap operas before going on to several guest spots on a variety of TV shows, including Magnum, P. I.

I saw Ted doing a podcast with Tom Selleck. Ted mentioned that when he saw a fight scene between him and Tom, he realized he had a bald spot. It was a shocking revelation. My wife told me I have a bald spot, but she’s wrong. It’s a swirl.

3: The first film Danson appeared in was, “The Onion Field.”

You probably don't know my name, but have likely seen my work. I've written for numerous syndicated cartoon strips and my gags have appeared in national pubs.
