He’s had the most prolific career of any of the Beatles.
It seems that out of all of the Beatles, Paul McCartney has fared the best post-Beatles breakup. Of course, the fact that John Lennon and George Harrison have passed away has something to do with that. It should also be pointed out that Ringo Starr hasn’t done badly himself.
Paul and John Lennon were generally deemed to be the more prolific and effective songwriters of the Beatles. One thing I’ve appreciated about McCartney’s work is reflected in the lyrics of his song, “Silly Love Songs.” McCartney asked the musical question, “What’s wrong with filling the world with silly love songs.” I agree. Not every song needs to be filled with drama and angst. On that note, on to some facts about Paul McCartney.
1: The Beatles monster hit, “Hey Jude” was written by McCartney to console Julian Lennon during his parents’ breakup.
Originally the song was going to be “Hey Jules,” but McCartney decided Jude was easier to sing. Thus, the song provided comfort and made a buck.
