Facts About “Oh Brother Where Art Thou?”
It’s one of the greatest comedies of all time.

Okay, I’ll get right to it. Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? is probably my favorite comedy of all time. It might be my favorite movie of all time period. It’s easily my favorite George Clooney movie, but everybody in the project is great. It’s also my favorite Coen Brothers project.
Out of all the actors to appear in the movie, I’ve found Tim Blake Nelson the most interesting. I subsequently saw him in an interview and was amazed at just what an intelligent man he is. I’ve seen more of his work and continue to be impressed by him.
But enough about Delmar. Here are some things you didn’t know about, Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?
1: The story is somewhat like the epic poem The Odyssey meets Steel Magnolias.
If the Steel Magnolias escaped male prisons who weren’t that bright.
2: The music was also great. It won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 2002.
Those Soggy Bottom boys were amazing. It seems like the Soggy Bottom Boys should have gotten a depends commercial.
3: Joel Coen went to Phoenix to offer the role of Everett to George Clooney. Clooney accepted the role without reading the script.
He subsequently sent the script to his uncle Jack, who was in Kentucky, to read the script into a tape recorder. Unknown to George, his uncle had edited out the four-letter words. I believe Jack’s version could have pulled a PG rating.
4: While most of the Soggy Bottom Boys singing was dubbed, Tim Blake Nelson sang, “He’s in the Jail House Now.”
Of course, not to be overlooked was the tremendous dance moves of the Soggy Bottom Boys.
5: Many of the extras hired for the KKK rally scene were African Americans.
Maybe the Klan is becoming more inclusive.
