Facts About Night Court
It was a great premise with a great ensemble cast.
During the 1980s NBC had a dynamic Thursday night comedy lineup. The network rolled out “The Cosby Show”, “Night Court,” “Family Ties,” and “Night Court.” Night Court was perhaps the most off the wall of the four comedies. It also had probably the most seriously flawed major character of the four in John Larroquette’s Dan Fielding.
Night Court had a lot of unusual characters run through the series in court scenes, but the main characters’ personal lives provided the storylines for many episodes. So, let’s take a look at some things you probably didn’t know about Night Court.
1: Michael Richards appeared on the show. And he really appeared.
Richards played a guy who thought he was invisible. He actually took off his clothes because he thought they were the reason people saw him. That actually sounds a lot like Cosmo Kramer.
2: A bald head helped Richard Moll get the role of Bull Shannon.
Moll had shaved his head for a role in “Medalstorm.” About that time, he was called in to audition for Night Court. Show creator, Reinhold Weege, hadn’t envisioned someone like Moll for the role but liked his acting and told him to keep the bald head. An…
