Who knew a skinny guy who stammered would be such a great western star?
The holiday season is here, and that means different things to different people, but one thing is certain, the airways will be filled with, “It’s a Wonderful Life.” That may be Jimmy Stewart’s most well-known role, but overall, he had a wonderful career. And, as a bonus he was one of the greatest western stars of all time.
While many of us think of Jimmy as a stalwart cowboy, he was quite the ladies’ man in his early days in Hollywood. His dating profile was quite high.
Actually, in looking at information regarding Jimmy Stewart, it was like dealing with two people. The playboy who existed before World War II, and the married man post World War II. So, here are some things you probably didn’t know about Jimmy Stewart.
1: One of Stewart’s early loves was Margaret Sullivan. Sullivan actually helped Stewart’s career and helped him to gain confidence as an actor. She went on to marry Stewart’s best friend, Henry Fonda.
After Sullivan dies, her daughter Brooke wrote a tell all book which said Stewart had an affair with Sullivan while she was married to his best friend, Fonda. Sort of a really ugly…
