Henry Winkler is still heavily associated with his role as Arthur Fonzarelli. And he seems okay with that. Of course, Fonzi is one of the most iconic characters in TV history. As is often the case, Henry and the character he is most associated with don’t have a lot in common.

Beyond Fonzi, Henry pops up occasionally on other TV series. Some of us may remember Henry from a movie called, The Lords of Flatbush, where he played a character somewhat similar to Fonzi. I also remember him starring in a movie with Sally Fields and Harrison Ford called Heroes. Against that meager backdrop, here are some things you might not have known about Henry Winkler.

1: Henry didn’t get along well with Tom Hanks. Winkler was actually fired as director of the movie, “Turner and Hooch.”

Henry said he actually got along better with the dog. In fairness, the dog seems pretty likeable. Winkler and Hanks are reportedly cordial now.

2: Henry has written three memoirs.

That seems like an autobiography in installments.

3: Henry’s family were German Jews. In 1939 Henry’s father decided to leave
