Ever Thought of Going to Crater of Diamonds State Park?

For years I've heard about the Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro, Ark. It’s unique among state parks in the United States in that visitors can actually look for diamonds and keep what they find. So, is Crater of Diamonds State Park like a casino for workaholics? I don’t know. I do know that I would consider going there for a little getaway. By the accounts I’ve read, the setting is beautiful and serene so there’s that.
A few basics to consider
How much does it cost to get in? I checked and it found it was $13 or adults and $6 for kids. As for equipment you might need to look for diamonds, it can be rented at the park.
Do people really find diamonds there? Yes. On average on or two a day diamonds are found each day there. Most diamonds found in the park are not appraised or sold. The largest diamond found in the field was the Uncle Sam diamond, found in 1924. Estimates vary on the stone’s worth, but one recent estimate was $880,000.00. Not bad.
