In a season full of indignities, the White Sox were spared the indignity of having the longest losing streak in the history of MLB. The Sox were able to stop their losing streak at 21 with a 5–1 win over the Oakland A’s. The victory provides a temporary respite from the misery that has been the 2024 White Sox season.

Sox starting pitcher, Jonathan Cannon went six innings, giving up only a solo home run to Zack Gelof. In summary, Cannon gave up six hits and two walks while striking out And, in a shocking development, Dominic Leone, Chad Kuhl and John Brebbia each threw a scoreless inning in relief.

As for the offense, Andrew Benintendi stuck the big blow, a two-run homer in the fourth inning. He also doubled and scored in the ninth.

What should the team’s goals be going forward?

Simply stated, the team should try to avoid having the worst record in the history of MLB. In addition, the team should see if there are any useable parts going into the 2025 season.

As a bonus, it would be nice if Sox owner, Jerry Reinsdorf, would pop his head out of his bunker and take responsibility for the steaming pile of a baseball team he’s responsible for. Plus, an…
