Baby Boomer Stuff I’ve Given Up, and Some I Won’t
Some things are still useful.
Baby boomers have seen a lot of changes. And the changes seem to be accelerating. Some of the things that were staples when I was younger are displaced or are in the process of being displaced. And I’m okay with some of them. Others, I miss or haven’t let go of. And still other stuff really should make a comeback.
Let’s take a look at some things boomers are familiar with and get some analysis. Take a look.
1: Drive-in movies. These things really should make a comeback. After all, covid put a damper on theater traffic and some people are still afraid to go back. Plus, you could bring food in or go to the concession stand. Or hide people in the trunk so they could get in for free. What’s that? Well, it seems you weren’t supposed to do that.
What would the charge be for that? Hopefully not some sort of trafficking charge.
2: Sit-ins. I’ve never been a part of a protest. But from a distance, a sit-in looks like the protest of choice for people that are out of shape. A protest march seems like it would be exhausting.
3: Paper catalogues and phonebooks. Honestly, I would be okay with those things. Remember the toilet paper shortages from a few years ago? It would have been nice to have a backup. Plus, you…
