Antonio Brown’s Theatrics Highlight Week 17 of the NFL
It was one of the most bizarre sights ever seen in the NFL.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers came back in dramatic fashion to beat the New York Jets 28–24 Sunday, but despite heroics from Tom Brady, what will be remembered is Antonio Brown’s epic meltdown. Brown made perhaps the most epic exit from a team ever when he stripped off his pads and departed through the MetLife Stadium tunnel naked from the waist up.
Brown actually exited through the end zone as he left the stadium. A play-by-play call of that might go, “And Brown is uncovered in the end zone.” After that Brown reportedly asked state troopers to take him to the airport.
I believe that Brown is the rare case of a black man asking to get into a police car. I have been told that’s a racist remark. I don’t think so. I think it’s just ironic in view of the strained relationship with young black men.
The person who said it was a racist remark said it was an example of black people being denied services. I agree that black people are often denied services that white people take for granted, but this is not an example of that.
Personally, when I’m going to the airport, I’m not able to use the state police as my personal Uber. I can imagine the conversation between a shirtless Brown and a state trooper:
