Ain’t That Tough Enough?

This little guy is one tough dude.

I do a weekly sports podcast with I. W. Moon. We generally talk about the NFL and MLB but something else came up in our conversation this week. A really tough raccoon.

I. W. said that there was a raccoon in his apartment complex that had been terribly wounded by another animal. The poor thing had his leg shredded and was bleeding profusely. He was also convulsing. I. W. called the apartment management and requested that animal control take care of the situation.

In typical management response, they wanted I. W. to care for the matter. That obviously wasn’t his job but does illustrate the general lack of responsibility prevalent in the world.

As time went on, the raccoon’s situation improved. It was no longer convulsing and the bleeding stopped. In an effort to help, I. W. brought the poor guy some water and food.

Eventually, animal control did come to search for ‘Rocky”, but he had apparently made his way to the nearby woods. He actually provided a story of inspiration on tenacity and toughness.

I like to think the guy has fully recovered and is now living his best life. Maybe he’s digging in a garbage can near you.
