A Martian’s View of Earth

Donald Trump had a term he used for third-world countries. I won’t repeat it. But thinking from a universal perspective, a similar term might apply to earth.

This place is becoming a dump.

One of my first jobs was as a tree planter for Weyerhaeuser in Oklahoma. On occasion, I would see where the company would clear cut a stand of timber. It looked like the aftermath of a nuclear holocaust.

Generally, Weyerhaeuser would try to hide the clear cuts behind some standing timber so it wasn’t visible from a road. But occasionally, somebody wouldn’t get the memo and the ugliness of a clear cut was exposed in all its grotesqueness. Now oftentimes companies don’t even try to hide their dirty work. With that in mind, let’s get an outside perspective, from a Martian.

What can be said about the earth’s atmosphere?

As stated in the above cartoon, it’s crude and vulgar. It’s becoming a galactic dive bar. The characters are starting to resemble the ones in the bar scene in the initial Star Wars.

So, what’s a Martian family to do while visiting earth?

The tenor of Martian tourism is changing. For example, Roswell used to be a favorite…
