15 Facts About Richard Nixon
At one time he was the most controversial president in U. S. history.
Before Donald Trump’s presidency, Richard Nixon was probably the most maligned president in the history of the United States. In the above picture Nixon is seen talking to three illegal aliens who are waiting to be relocated via bus to some resort area. Hang on, being told that’s not true. While Nixon left office in disgrace, he was not without accomplishments.
We’ll take a look at Tricky Dick and see what things you may not have known about him.
1: Nixon was the first US president to visit Chinese leaders in Peking. This took place in 1972.
Theoretically, it was to improve US relations with China, but actually Nixon wanted some authentic Peking chicken. Wait, being told that’s not right.
2: In 1970 Nixon established the EPA.
And amazingly, he wasn’t kicked out of the Republican party.
3: Richard was an excellent student, finishing third in his class at Duke University School of Law.
If he was really tricky, he would have finished first.
