15 Facts About Montana
I know it’s cold and not a whole lot else.
In looking through images for this story I was reminded that Montana has bison. Thanks to my brother-in-law, I’ve also heard of the Matthew Quigley Buffalo Rifle Match in Forsyth, Montana. It’s an offshoot of that great Tom Selleck movie, Quigley Down Under. It actually sounds like a neat event.
I also believe that Augustus McRae and Woodrow Call drove a cattle herd to Montana and established a ranch there. What’s that? It turns out that Lonesome Dove wasn’t a documentary. Well, armed with that information, here are some things you didn’t know about Montana.
1: Montana does not have an official nickname but does have some unofficial ones including “Big Sky Country.”
Another is “Place Where You Can Freeze Your Buns Off.”
2: The fastest growing sector of Montana’s economy is tourism.
I’m sure the department of tourism doesn’t emphasize the “freeze your buns off” thing.
