15 Facts About Michigan
I’ve actually spent some time there.
Michigan is a state I’ve actually spent some time in. I still have family members there. I was born in Oklahoma, but we moved to Michigan when I was a few weeks old and spent some time there before ultimately moving to Oklahoma and then Illinois. While my experience with Michigan isn’t vast, it has been generally speaking pleasant.
Of course, when most of us think of Michigan we think of the auto industry, and probably cold weather. Beyond that, I think of the Detroit sports teams, but after that, my knowledge of Michigan is pretty sketchy. Moving on from that, here are some things you probably didn’t know about Michigan.
1: For thousands of years, Michigan was inhabited by Native American tribes. French exploders claimed it as part of the New France colony in the 17th century.
So, if you see a place you like, don’t let the fact that somebody is already there stop you from claiming it.
2: Alaska is the only state in the union with more water than Michigan.
So, if a state like Florida loses coastline to rising water, does Florida have more water, of does the water have Florida?
