Generally speaking, writing about politicians isn’t a moneymaker for me. Even dead politicians can raise emotional responses in today’s polarized world. Still, I decided to write about JFK? Why? Well, for one thing it’s easy to spell and I’m a hunt and peck typist. For another, politics aside, he led a very interesting life.

Most of us, if we are old enough, remember where we were at when we heard President Kennedy had been shot. Personally, I was in school when we were told of the shooting. As I recall, the reaction to the death of JFK was one of profound loss. With that said, here are some facts about JFK.

1: A week after JFK’s death, Jacqueline Kennedy said, “Don’t let it be forgot, that once there was a spot, for one brief shining moment that was known as Camelot.”

So that’s where that Camelot thing came from. I thought it was a place where you could get a good deal on a used camel.

2: Originally, Jacqueline Kennedy took off her wedding ring and put on JFK’s finger to be buried with him. She later had an aide retrieve it.
